Exercise library & muscle map

Forge ships 278 weight-training exercises organised into variant families: a parent movement (defined by movement + loading + setup) with hand-level children — Pull-Up ↔ Chin-Up ↔ wide/neutral grips, the bench family, the deadlift family. Families chart together, so grip experiments do not fragment your history.

The muscle map

Every exercise page shows anatomical front/back figures with the primary muscles in full ember and secondaries faded. The anatomy artwork is MIT-licensed (react-native-body-highlighter), recoloured with Forge's theme tokens. Regions resolve from a reviewed pattern table over the exercise name, falling back to the muscle group — the exact mapping is in the math.

Equipment glyphs

Picker rows carry a small line glyph per equipment type — barbell, dumbbell, weight plate, machine stack, cable, kettlebell, bodyweight — so a long list scans fast. Eleven equipment values fold into seven glyphs (Smith machines read as machines, EZ and trap bars as barbells).

Custom exercises & variants

Create your own exercises, or add a variant to an existing family (New variant inside any family) — it inherits the family's charts while tracking its own history. Imported exercises that land without a muscle group can be fixed in bulk with Settings → Re-categorize.
